“Villa Tropical" is both the brand name of our vacation rental business, and, the name of the three-storey, 6-unit, boutique beach hotel, heavenly located on Shacks Beach at the point break overlooking the Blue Hole Coral Reef. The Villa Tropical Hotel is affectionately known as “Villa Tropical” or VT”. Many moons ago, the bottom left aka "BL" apartment unit alone, was one of the first wooden beach shacks ever built this close to the ocean. See the historic picture in our photo tour. Villa Tropical was the first ever public vacation rental on Shacks Beach. 

Since 1990, the Villa Tropical Hotel’s apartment units have enchanted regular visitors from around the globe. The Villa Tropical Hotel has never, ever, closed. VT provides refuge to first responders and the community in wake of storms. The VT Guest Services Team are skilled, resourceful, kind, considerate and willing to go the extra mile for guests. The VT Operation Team uses the “first come first reserve” booking practice; and “home away from home” hospitality that has to be experienced to comprehend. For a holiday weekend, this building books a year in advance.

At VT there are 6 fully equipped apartment units and the VT store and the GM’s office downstairs. The four ocean facing units open front doors to the deep blue view of the Atlantic Ocean. The two - 2 bedrooms on the 2nd floor also have 2nd entrances via the internal stairwell leading down to the parking area at the back of the house. The non ocean fronting units in VT have full oceanfront deck privileges and share use of the shower at VT Hotel’s oceanside beach gate. Internal stairs connect the units to each other which can come in handy if you rent with your friends and family. VT has been remodelled several times and impeccably cared for but also maintained reasonable in cost.

The Villa Tropical Hotel is located directly at the point break in front of, [looking over and in to], the Blue Hole Coral Reef and the ‘Swimming Area’ on Shacks Beach. The Playa Linda building is VT’s oceanside neighbor and Casa Soledad is just across the street. The General Manager’s Office, and the Villa Tropical Store and Gift Shop are also located on the ground floor as are coin operated laundry machines.

The Villa Tropical Hotel boasts a stunning wood deck that juts out over the dunes (a picture takers favorite spot). Your beach showers are on the deck just steps above the sand directly in front of the “Swimming Hole” – The best place to perch oneself on this beach because it’s the only clear sandy, urchinless, access to the ocean for miles on either side. Plus, it’s the launching site for most Shacks water sports enthusiasts. 

There are 6 separate and unique, fully – equipped apartment units available in the Villa Tropical Hotel. There are two – two-bedroom oceanfront units on the 2nd floor, top level (TL and TR); and a two-bedroom beside a studio on the lower (BL and FS). TR and TL share an upper deck and barbecue up top. BL and FS share a large, covered ocean fronting deck with stainless barbecue and open star gazing deck areas, surf storage, plants, murals and a fountain. The front deck, stairs, showers and beach access is community space for all guests staying in one of the 6 Villa Tropical Hotel units. 

The non-oceanfront units include a studio (BS) and one one-bedroom (1B). They are located at the back of the house above the Office and Villa Tropical Store. Wireless internet connectivity, one free parking space per unit, beach access, outside showers, stainless barbecue, deck chairs and tables. The Villa Tropical Hotel has generator power and cistern water backup.

"Top Right" is a two-bedroom oceanfront apartment on the second level on the east side of the Villa Tropical Hotel with adjoining deck to unit TL. This unit fronts to the launch area at the point break. There is a King-size bed in the master bedroom and two Twins in the 2nd bedroom. There is an oceanfront deck with phenomenal view over the Blue Hole Coral Reef and a private deck on the back looking out to the cliffs and over the parking area and gardens. The apartment features a working desk, fully equipped kitchen, and newer appliances. There are console AC's in the living room and one in each bedroom. The apartment sleeps 4 people maximum @ $250/n. TR has backup generator and cistern water, if needed.

"Top Left" is a two-bedroom oceanfront on the second level of the Villa Tropical Hotel on the west side with adjoining deck to TR. There is an oceanfront deck with phenomenal view over the Blue Hole Coral Reef, at the point break, and a private deck on the back. The one bedroom with two Twins size beds walks through to the master with King-size bed & huge closet and dresser. Very well decorated with newer kitchen and bathroom (with a tub). There are console AC's in the living room and in both bedrooms. The apartment sleeps maximum 4 people @ $250/n. TL has backup generator and cistern water, if needed.

"Bottom Left" is a two-bedroom oceanfront apartment on the lower west side of the Villa Tropical Hotel overlooking the Blue Hole, at the point break. BL and FS (next door studio) share a large outdoor deck with stainless grill, excellent for dining and sunset or star gazing. BL has a newer kitchen and bathroom. King size bed in master and two Twins in 2nd room. Sleeps 4 people maximum @ $250/n. BL has backup generator and cistern water, if needed.

"Front Studio" is an oceanfront studio on the lower east side of the Villa Tropical Hotel. FS is the only studio that fronts to Shacks Beach and has the most idyllic view out it’s door and kitchen window, overlooking the Blue Hole Coral Reef. FS neighbors with BL, the two-bedroom next door at VT. It has use of the full grand deck at VT and has it’s own picnic table by the door with a fountain and mural on your right. Trevor and Jennifer remember staying in FS as guests many moons ago. It has everything you can possibly need including A/C, excellent wifi, and a stainless grill and deck furniture. It features a small yet functional kitchen, Full-size bed and walk-in closet. Sleeps 2 people maximum @ $150/n. FS has backup generator and cistern water, if needed.

1B Is the non-oceanfront one bedroom unit at the back of the Villa Tropical Hotel, above the GM’s Office. It is on the east side and catches the morning sunlight. 1B has a cute, fully equipped kitchen with a nice counter and island seating. The adjacent living area has a leather couch and flat screen TV. There is also a large storage space to hide your suitcases. A bright and sunny morning apartment lends to a cool and comfortable evening retreat. The separate bedroom has one Queen-size bed and dresser. There is a small bathroom with standup shower. There is shared coin operated laundry. Wireless internet is free and one parking space is included. Best of all, 1B has full use of the VT hotel’s oceanfront deck, oceanside shower and beach access. Sleeps 2 people @$140/n. 1B has backup generator and cistern water, if needed.

"Back Studio", is the non-oceanfront studio-size unit on the upper level at the back of the Villa Tropical Hotel. Compact and cute, functional and well equipped, with the VT Store and laundry facilities just down the stairs. The apartment includes a Queen-size bed, fridge, microwave, satellite TV, counter with desk nook and large bright windows. Nice size bathroom and ample closet space. BS has full use of the hotel’s oceanfront deck, oceanside shower and beach access. Sleeps maximum 2 people @ $130/n. BS has backup generator and cistern water, if needed.
